My Vision
At Rocky Point Insight, our vision is to serve as a platform for innovative ideas and insightful analysis regarding the tourism development of Puerto Peñasco and other key destinations in Northwest Mexico and the Southwest U.S. Designed for entrepreneurs, leaders, and visionaries, this blog aims to drive sustainable and well-planned growth, promoting smart investments and significant improvements to both the quality of life and the tourism experience.
Through in-depth analysis, reflections based on my extensive experience, and the presentation of up-to-date industry information, this blog aspires to become a go-to resource for those interested in the future of tourism in the Northwest Mexico and Southwest United States region. We aim to foster collaboration, constructive dialogue, and the implementation of innovative solutions that will ensure the prosperity and well-being of the tourist communities in this region.
My Expertise
Hey everyone, I'm Hector Vazquez del Mercado Martinez. Marketing pro by trade but a tourism and hospitality enthusiast at heart! I also have a knack for public relations. I've called Puerto Peñasco home since 2006, and it's been an incredible ride.
For over a decade, I had the honor of serving as the honorary president of the Convention and Visitors Bureau here. Plus, I've been steering the ship as Director of Las Palomas Seaside Golf Community, Sonora's largest tourism project, for over 12 years. We've got over 450 luxury condos in hotel operation, our fantastic The Links golf course, and two more condo towers with over 100 luxury units, not to mention a residential development Blue at Las Palomas of 134 homes right on the golf course.
On the business front, I used to head up the Young Entrepreneurs of COPARMEX Sonora Norte and have been an advisor for several amazing charities.
When I'm not working, I'm fishing, catching a baseball game, hitting the links, diving into a good book, or trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
